It would have extended to be shown to the public, but a number of his ideas in the film were not ultimately adopted, like his phone booth designs, and men's and women's uniforms. But a great many of the design were adopted—including, most memorably, the telephone vans and hardhat designs of the 1970s. It premiered in the summer on June 5, 2012 and ended on July 31, 2012. On August 17, 2012, ABC Family announced that the show was canceled.

GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class is a Japanese seinen yonkoma manga series by Satoko Kiyuzuki. The series was serialized in Heiwa Shuppan's moe four-panel manga magazine Comic Gyutto! from its first issue on July 23, 2004 to its last issue. Afterwards a one-shot manga appeared in the August 2005 issue of Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat, and started regular serialization from the November 2005 issue. Yen Press announced at Comic Con 2008 that it had acquired a license for English-language distribution of GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class in North America. A 12-episode anime adaptation aired in Japan between July and September 2009.

Divine Design is a Canadian interior design show produced by Fusion Television which airs on W Network in Canada and HGTV in the United States. It is broadcast on Thursdays, 9pm e/p and is hosted by Candice Olson, one of Canada's top designers. In the show, Olson heads a team of artisans and skilled labourers that includes Paul Daly, Lorne Hogan, Chico Garcia, Edmond Joseph, Terry Edward Briceland and Andrew Downward. The half-hour show features Olson's step-by-step interior redesign of a client's living space mixed with campy comedy shorts before each commercial break.
Design Inc. is a Canadian television series, which airs on HGTV in Canada and Fine Living Network in the United States. The show also airs on SIC Mulher in Portugal and Living in New Zealand. Hosted by Toronto interior designer Sarah Richardson, the series profiles design projects taken on by the staff of Richardson's firm. Most episodes take place in a conventional home or condo space, although the firm and the series have also taken on projects in a boathouse, a yurt, a hotel room, a Toronto restaurant, a converted pigsty, a baseball player's luxury suite at the Rogers Centre, and Toronto's Carlu theatre and event space. Richardson also hosted the related series Room Service and Sarah's House, in which she purchased and renovated an entire home.

Let's Design is an annual Indian reality television series on Zoom TV which focuses on fashion design. The contestants compete with each other in each episode to create the best clothes and are usually restricted in time, materials and theme. Their designs are judged, and one or more designers are eliminated each week. The show is sponsored by Cotton Council International and dedicated to the promotion of cotton. The show took place in Delhi for season 1 and Mumbai for seasons 2 and 3. The 2011 winner was Govind Kumar Singh, and Dhruv Singh won in 2012. The fifth series is due to begin on 19 November 2012.
Design U is a Canadian television series which premiered on April 4, 2005 on HGTV. Produced by Mountain Road Productions the series takes the design-clueless back to school for a crash course in interior design. After one intense day with a professional designer—learning the ins and outs of design theory—the design student gets to test their newly acquired design savvy during a two-day makeover. With $3000 and a team of renovators at their disposal, the student has to transform one room in their house. At the end, the design professor returns to review the results to see if the student makes the grade.
